The Pretec 333x CompactFlash card (2GB model tested) is a pricey, but high-performing card, at least in our D300 RAW burst test. It equaled the ATP Pro Max II’s 5 fps effective burst rate and 22 MB/sec write speed for a RAW 20-image burst. Consequently, we’ve added it to the list of recommended cards for RAW shooting.
Unfortunately, we can’t recommend it for JPG shooters, as it still lingers in the low 40s for our continuous 8 fps shooting test.
These titanium-finish cards look quite snazzy and come in capacities up to 16GB (which will set you back $400) and an obscene 24GB model has been announced. Presently the only place I have found them available is on PTI’s own store.
