It was Yogi Berra who famously said, “50% of the game is half mental.” A lapse in the mental game cost VMI a pair of runs on this catchable fly ball to shallow left center field.
How it was made.
Pretty standard set up here, with Sigma 120-300/f2.8D mounted to my Nikon D300s. Manual exposure of 1/3200 @ f4, with ISO automatically set at 250 via the Secret D300 High-Speed Auto ISO Trick. 300 really isn’t quite enough reach for the outfield, but the 6MP crops below are still publishable. (Typically I use a 1.4x but left it off today.)
