Lacrosse Season Rolls to an End

Rolling Along

Another season of lacrosse is in the books, and this year’s finale included a fun little sequence involving one of the nation’s best face-off specialists.

Not the most impressive photo in and of itself…but a nifty little sequence that the D7000 tracked admirably (if not perfectly).  VMI midfielder/face-off specialist Stephen Robarge picked up this ground ball and, after taking a ferocious hit from Deteroit’s Chris Nemes, hit the ground, rolled to his feet, and completed the clear.

I had the Sigma 100-300/f4 EX DG APO HSM lens mounted – sadly discontinued – to the D7000, with manual exposure set at 1/2500 and f4.  Using the Secret High-Speed Auto ISO Trick, the ISO floated from between values of 200, 220, and 250.
